Newsray communication holds 2013 leadership award

Newsray Communication Ventures Limited is set to hold its 2013 prestigious leadership award and public lecture.

This was contained in a statement by the editorial adviser, Hon. Nelson Campbell, and made available to newsmen.

He said that 14 eminent Nigerians have been nominated for the award, having considered their positive contributions to the progress of the Nigerian state and humanity in general.

The nominees are, director finance and accounts, National Institute for Cultural Orientation, NICO, Mr. Ordu Godson Igbo; Emir Damaturu Emirate Council, Ibn. Umar Alamin Elkanemi Shehu Hashimi II; Emir Machina Emirate Council, Alhaji Bashir Albashir Bukar Machinama OON; Emir, Talata-Mafara Emirate Council, Dr. Muhamadu Barmo Bello; president, Centre for Environmental Preservation and Development, Bayelsa State, Akene Furoebi Freedom Sheba; Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Bayelsa State chapter, Mr. Akono Solomon Tarinyo; the executive secretary, Yenagoa City Development Authority, Ige-Edaba Iboro Yilaziba to mention a few.

The occasion is expected to have the Governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Seraike Dickson as special guest of honour while former majority leader, Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Sir Tunde Akogun, will serve as chairman.

The executive secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation, NICO, Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma is expected to deliver the Keynote Address while the national secretary, NUJ, Shaibu Usman Leman, will serve as a resource person.

The event would take place at the Banquet Hall of Bayelsa State Government House, Creek Haven, Yengoa, on June 11, 2013.
